Solicitation Policy

Solicitation Policy per GSHRM Bylaws, 11/3/15

There shall be no solicitation, either orally or through printed material, during GSHRM meetings or social hour except for the social sponsor(s) hosting the specific meeting. No member may use the GSHRM Membership Directory for purposes of solicitation or providing information about their organization. Members determined to be soliciting by a Board of Directors investigation will be subject to administrative action up to and including expulsion from membership without a refund of dues. There is no re-application period for expelled members.

Solicitation Protocol Approved By GSHRM Board, 10/11/16

Social sponsor(s) hosting the specific meeting, seminar, or event are permitted to display product literature and samples. Sponsors may solicit individuals who approach their display and inquire about their product or service. Solicitation is allowable when contacts are obtained as a result of members placing business cards in sponsor drawing; attendance at the annual HR Management Conference and obtaining contact information, or other approved sponsorship outreach opportunities where contact information is provided voluntarily.

For all other members or guests, there shall be no solicitation, either orally or through printed material, during GSHRM meetings, events or social hour. No member may use contacts obtained in GSHRM meetings, events, social hour, or by using the GSHRM Membership Directory for purposes of solicitation or providing information about their organization, products or services via mail, fax, telephone, email, personal visits, or other means.

Reporting

Members are asked to report any incident of solicitation that violates this policy by sending an email to the Chapter Operations Director at admin@greenvillehr.org.

Members determined by Board of Director review to be soliciting and by majority vote will be subject to administrative action up to and including expulsion from membership without a refund of dues. There will be no re-application period for expelled members. Guests determined to be soliciting will not be permitted to attend any future meetings as guest of any member or be eligible for membership themselves.
