Program Description: This full day training is designed to provide a basic overview of federal disability employment laws for human resources professionals and other professionals including but not limited to the Americans with Disabilities Act, Civil Rights Act, Rehabilitation Act including federal contractor requirements, and the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act.  Pre-employment through post-employment requirements will be discussed.  The relationship of state and federal agencies will be presented.  Resources, technical assistance and assistive technology and other reasonable accommodation options will be presented.


Speaker Bios

Program Speakers: 

William Crews is the Assistant District Director for the Charlotte, NC District Office, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs [OFCCP], United States Department of Labor [DOL].

Christina Dodd is the Lead Systemic Investigator for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) for the Charlotte District. 

Sandy Hanebrink, OTR/L, CLP is the Executive Director of Touch the Future, Inc. Sandy is an occupational therapist who has developed a practice niche in advocacy, assistive technology and networking individuals with disabilities and service providers to necessary resources. 

Dan Koon, who has been an employee of the Agency for more than two decades, is the Deputy Commissioner for the South Carolina Human Affairs Commission. 

Hilton Seda is with the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs [OFCCP], United States Department of Labor [DOL].

Rob Sneed is an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) in the U.S Attorney's Office for the District of South Carolina.  Assigned to the Civil Division, he works as the Affirmative Civil Rights Coordinator for the U.S. Attorney's Office. 

Rachael S. Steenbergh-Tideswell is a Senior Trial Attorney with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's (EEOC) Charlotte District Office.  Ms. Steenbergh-Tideswell advises the EEOC's Greenville Local Office staff.

Robert Trahan is the Director of Veterans Employment Training for the Atlanta District's South Carolina Office of the U.S. Department of Labor,  Veterans' Employment and Training Service.
